Draft History

Draft scores measure how much value each pick returned compared with what was reasonably expected when it was selected.

After every NFL season, each drafted player's fantasy production is compared with other players at the same position that year, then with the historical results of players drafted in similar spots. Players who greatly exceed expectations earn high Pick Scores, while players who fall well short earn lower ones.

Pick Scores range from 0.1 to 9.9, with 5.0 representing an average outcome for that position and draft range.

For example:

• A first-round pick who delivers the season you'd expect will score around 5.0.
• A late-round sleeper who becomes a fantasy star may score above 9.0.
• An early-round bust or season-ending injury may score near 1.0.

A manager's Overall Draft Score combines the Pick Scores from every selection, giving slightly more weight to the early rounds. The result is then placed on a fixed 0.5 to 9.5 historical scale based on every draft in league history. A score around 5.0 represents a typical draft, while 9.0 or higher represents one of the best drafts the league has ever seen.

Draft scores evaluate draft-day decisions only. Waiver pickups, trades, lineup choices, schedule luck, and playoff results are intentionally excluded, allowing drafts from different seasons to be compared on equal footing.
